My name is Lara Wear and my lifelong passions are horses,
nature and photography. I picked up my first camera at the age
of 10
and photographed my Breyer horse collection. With some
success I was able to convince viewers the images were of real
horses.
I bought my first manual SLR in my teens and have never
looked back. Photography is my art form, it is "painting with light."
I began riding at the age of six and grew up with the Victoria-Saanich
Pony Club. For a number of years I competed in Jumpers and
Eventing and at the age of 20 I completed my CEF (now Equine
Canada)
Level 1 English Coaching Certificate.
I live in the Highlands, near Victoria BC, on two acres. I hope to
have a couple of horses on the property in a few years,
but for now,
my horses live near Elk Lake where the trail riding is fantastic.
The beauty in the photograph
is Luke, my partner of 19+ years.
